Julia Stranges Miss Club Italia 2018
Julia is our 39th Miss Club Italia she was crowned at Club Italia's Italian Festival on July 8, 2018. She is 17 years of age, and is the eldest of 2 children. Both of her grandparents were born in Italy in the towns of Crotone and Corozone, Calabria. Her father is a first generation Canadian.
Julia strives to improve herself constantly and to take on new challenges. She loves playing soccer, painting and photography and learning Spanish. Julia gives back to her community by serving at the altar in her church, volunteering at soup kitchens and annual day of caring.
She is a member of the Honors Society, Drama Club and Green Team. She is in grade 12 and will continue to be a scholar athlete by pursuing a collegiate soccer career. Her future aspirations include attending University to furthering her prestigious education and to major in Pre-Law.

History of Club Italia Ambassador (Miss Club Italia)
The Club Italia Ambassador began as Miss Club Italia in 1980 by founder Wilma Calabrese of the Ladies Auxiliary of Club Italia.
Club Italia is proud to host an annual event where young contestants of Italian heritage, minimum 15 years of age to 19 years of age can participate to receive the honor of being selected as Club Italia's Ambassador.
Thanks to the sponsorship of many local businesses the contestants have participated in many activities prior to the selection of Club Italia's Ambassador. Past contestants have had an opportunity to take part in a pizza-making activity, a helicopter tour, and tours to the many wondrous tourist attractions that Niagara Falls has to offer, attend sporting events.
The contestants have volunteered at various community outreach programs; visit to a local Senior Retirement Center, serving at the soup kitchen, visit to Children's Hospital. The contestants raised funds for a charity of their choosing by hosting fundraising events. Past contestants have raised funds for; Boys & Girls Club of Niagara, Nova House, Ronald McDonald House, Down Syndrome Niagara, Nick Roma, Water Projects Samaritan's Purse and various organizations over the past 39 years. The contestants also get an opportunity to showcase their talents and public speaking abilities.
